The manuscript is a copy of an Arabic poem by the Moroccan Sufi poet, Abū Alī al-Ḥasan ibn Mas‘ūd al-Yūsī (1631-1691). It has extensive didactic glosses in Mandinka Ajami. It was copied from the original by Mouhamadou Amine Toure, the grandfather of the current owner who also added the Mandinka Ajami glosses.
