Scope/Centerscope (the original title, Scope, was changed to Centerscope in 1971 with vol. 4, number 2: both titles are grouped together in this collection for ease of access) was published by the BU Medical Center "to communicate the concern of the Medical Center for the development and maintenance of improved health care in contemporary society."

The publication featured BU Medical Campus authors, and addressed both local and national issues related to health care, including still-relevant topics such as abortion, health care costs, and marijuana use/abuse.
