MetadataShow full item record
The purpose of this study is to construct fifty lessons graded in difficulty to improve the classification skill of fourth grade children. The subject content is taken from social studies. It is recognized that this particular skill is important in teaching in the middle grades. Previous studies have shown that the Skill can be taught effectively and that such practice has resulted in not only the increased ability to classify, but in actually reading achievement. Reading skills can be taught through the content areas. Therefore this study is an attempt to develop teaching materials for children in grade four using social study content. [TRUNCATED]
