Pulp testing with ultrasound: a pilot study

The purpose of this investigation was to pulp test teeth wtth ultrasound, and see if we could not correlate these findings with our clinical evaluation, which had been obtained by conventional pulp testing methods, The object of the study was to eliminate the patient subjectivity in pulp testing. Teeth of varying degrees of pulp vitality were selected as test teeth, and their contralateral teeth, where possible, were selected as controls. The teeth were then scored according to their response to heat, cold, and electricity. They were then clinically evaluated. The teeth were then tested with ultrasound with a 7.5 MHz transducer...
