To determine the degree of correlation between musical aptitude and music appreciation as measured by the Seashore Measures of Musical Talents and the Fisher Measurements of Musical Appreciation. The Pearson Product-Moment "r" was found to be .31. This indication a negligible correlation. From this coefficient of correlation it was concluded the most students on the secondary level could benefit by a study of music appreciation of general music.
