Abstract
The Isaiah text begs Gd to “tear open the heavens” and come down. Because of his long absence we have all sinned and fallen away. The long absence of Jesus, likewise, makes us wonder if there’s anything to the idea of the Second Coming. Was that just idle Chatter? Why are we still waiting and how can we have assurance, in the meantime, that we haven’t been abandoned?
