Abstract
The purpose of this study was to test the following hypotheses: 1. There are differences in the concepts of role ascribed to school committee members by the registered voters of Massachusetts and by the School Committee Members of Massachusetts. 2. Differences in the concepts of role ascribed to school committee are determined, in part, by a person's age, sex, income, political affiliation, occupation, education, geographic location and the size of the community in which he resides.
