Abstract
Determinations were made for the retention factor associated with full cast crowns cemented to various forms of crown preparations. Four different types of permanent cements were used in the investigation. They were zinc-phosphate (Fleck's), polycarboxylate Durelon, glass ionomer (Biochem), and BIS-GMA composite resin cements (Comspan). During the course of this approach valuable information was obtained regarding the height and the convergence angle of four types of preparations used throughout the experiment. Analysis of the data revealed significant differences in retention of the cast crowns relative to the four cements used in the experiment.
