Abstract
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical and histological responses of human pulps to two medicaments acting synergisticly in a vital pulpotomy procedure. The drugs to be used are metacresol acetate (Cresatin) and calcium hydroxide (Pulpdent). Both drugs have been used independently in pulpotomy treatment and their effects have been well documented. Calcium hydroxide has long been known to stimulate the healing of the pulp, and to effect the formation of a reparative dentin bridge over the exposed area.
