Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the competencies of beginning elementary classroom teachers in music theozy and singing. The areas of strength and weakness in music theory and singing were ascertained for reference by teacher-training institutions and public schools trying to meet the needs of the classroom teacher in music.
