Abstract
Realizing that Shakespeare's works are above all else, dramatic utterances, one hesitates to attribute moral significance to the mighty passages. However, one is loathe to accept the belief of some critics, including George Santayana, that the plays lack religion. George Santayana's vehement statements emphasizing this belief led me to challenge his opinion and to try to show that there is religion in Shakespeare's plays. [TRUNCATED]
