Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to determine the effect the "Left" of the Labour Party upon the official foreign policy of the British Labour Government since 1945. In addition, the I suggestions of the Left groups are evaluated against the criteria of reality in international relations. Careful consideration is given to each important sector of opinion within the Left wing of the Party and to a contrast of these with I Government policy.
