Abstract
Nearly 200 companies were surveyed by questionnaire to ascertain their use of technological forecasting and technological forecasting techniques. These companies were also asked to give their sources of successful new product ideas and the percent of projects which result in successfully marketed products. The results were analyzed by industry and examples are given in the Appendix of how technological forecasting aids in producing the long range plan. [TRUNCATED]
