Description
This community presents an openly licensed, interprofessional graduate medical education (GME) geriatric medicine curriculum developed and implemented at the VA Bedford Healthcare System Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) unit and Community Living Centers (CLC). The curriculum spans subacute rehabilitation and long-term care clinical learning environments and focuses on Age-Friendly™ healthcare (the Geriatrics 5Ms: Mobility, Mind, Medications, Multicomplexity, and Matters Most), interprofessional education and collaboration (IPEC), and mindful awareness. Resources address cognitive load optimization and psychological safety for clinical learners. Program directors in graduate and undergraduate medical, nurse practitioner, and physician associate education may find these resources helpful in developing programs in these clinical learning environments.
