Abstract
According to the dental literature, many scientific studies have been carried out, both clinically and histologically, about the healing of wounds after: periodontal surgery, tooth extraction, apicoectomy and bone fracture. Also there is a considerable agreement concerning the healing of periapical lesions of endodontic origin following root canal treatment. But almost all criteria are based only on clinical observations such as: patient’s symptoms and radiographic demonstrations. The present paper will attempt to demonstrate by a histopathologic investigation the sequence of events which take place in the periapical lesions after non-surgical endodontic treatment.
