Abstract
The purpose of this dissertation is to investigate modern panpsychism, especially as it is expounded by James Ward and Charles A. Strong. To this end the historical background and contemporary status of panpsychism are surveyed, the factors common to Ward and Strong examined, the individual characteristics of these two thinkers set forth, their contributions evaluated, and some implications of their panpsychism traced.
