A list of project collaborators and volunteers is maintained on our website: https://chcdatabase.com/project-team/. SOURCES: A complete list of data sources can be found on our online documentation https://chcdatabase.github.io/data-documentation/docs/6_sources/. All data was extracted by the CHCD research team from the list of documents provided. The China Historical Christian Database (CHCD) is a rich repository of historical, relational, and geographical data about Christianity in China from 1550 to 1950. The CHCD addresses these challenges by curating an open-access database built in Neo4j that records information about Christian institutions in China and those that worked inside of them. Drawing on historical sources, the CHCD contains temporal, relational, and geographic data. The CHCD will enable scholars to leverage geospatial analysis, network science, and data analytics to examine the religious, political, philosophical, and technological exchanges between China and the West.en-USThe CHCD is hosted by the Center for Global Christianity and Mission at Boston University. The data that makes up the CHCD is distributed under a CC BY 4.0 license. This means that your are free to use, share, and adapt the data as long as correct attribution is given.http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Open dataRelational databaseHistoryChinaNetworksGeographyChristianityMission historySino-Western relationsComputational humanitiesChina Historical Christian Database version 2.5Dataset
