His father's name was Isaya Kibira and his mother, one of two wives, was Esteria. A week after his birth Josiah contracted a fatal illness from which he somehow miraculously recovered. In response, his father gave him the names Josiah Mutabuzi. Josiah means “the Lord heals” and Mutabuzi, a Haya tribal name, means “He is a savior.”]en-USCopyright 2016 Dictionary of African Christian Biography. All rights reserved.
