Thank you.On January 10, 1860, the five-story Pemberton Mill in Lawrence, Massachusetts, collapsed, burying more than six hundred Irish and native-born textile workers in a vast pile of debris. The event had many consequences. It affected numerous practices in the textile industry. It brought the Pemberton lasting notoriety. It produced an unusual body of information about the textile industry of 1860.
