The thesis is an analysis of the literature to determine if any of the processes is or shows promise of meeting these requirements: simple, dry and rapid, having wide temperature and nuclear radiation tolerances, and at the same time having suitable photographic response. Since this field is even wider than first expected, only materials that have caught the interest of commercial organizations have been reviewed.
