Abstract
[I first came across Christine Sun Kim, an American artist who has been Deaf since birth, when I visited her exhibition, All Day All Night this summer at the Whitney Museum of American Art. I was immediately caught by her work and the making processes behind it. She turns sound—something I often take for granted—into a visual and physical experience. She was born in California in 1980 and she studied at the Rochester Institute of Technology and later at Bard College. Over the years, she has become known worldwide for using drawing, performance, and installations to reimagine what sounds can mean.]
