This is the concert program of the Empire Brass performance on Tuesday, December 7, 1993 at 8:00 p.m., at Marsh Chapel, 735 Commonwealth Avenue. Works performed were Canzona bergamasca by Samuel Scheidt, Elizabethan Dance Suite by Anthony Holborne, Canzone No. 1, Canzone No. 9, and Fugue in G major by Johann Sebastian Bach, Suite in G major by Tomaso Albinoni, Selections from the Fairy Queen Suite by Henry Purcell, "Procession of the Nobles," from "Mlada" by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, "Polovtsian Dance," from "Prince Igor" by Alexander Borodin, "Wedding Dance and Troika," from "Lieutenant Kije" by Sergei Prokofiev, Sequenza No. 5 for Solo Trombone by Luciano Berio, "Arabian Dance," from "The Nutcracker" by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, "Procession of the Sardar," from "Caucasian Sketches" by Mikhail Ippolitov-Ivanov, Farandole by Georges Bizet, Selections from "West Side Story" by Leonard Bernstein, and Simple Gifts by Aaron Copland.
