Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the ability of Hydron to seal the root canal space in three dimensions by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and dye infusion methods. To fulfil this purpose, replica technique was performed to obtain an accurate copy of the specimens for SEM observations. Originals can not be used since Hydron is a hydrophilic plastic material and loses its water content during SEM procedures. Shrinkage and deformation of the material occurs which makes the interpretation of the outcome difficult or impossible. Dye penetration study by means of ultracentrifugation method was carried on to check and compare the corresponding outcomes with the results obtained from SEM study.
