Abstract
An in-vitro investigation to study the effect and movement of paraformaldehyde incorporated in Sargenti's paste has been designed and carried to completion. With the aid of C14 labelled paraformaldehyde, the rate of flow of formaldehyde from the set paste was found to decrease with time, approaching zero after approximately 30 days. Following that time period, further release of formaldehyde could only be observed if the paste started to dissolve.
