Abstract
In 1947 the British Parliament granted autonomy to the Colony of India. Religious and other differences among the peoples of India led to the establishment of two, rather than one, nations in India. In the course of partition, the fate of one part of India, Kashmir, was never fully settled. This thesis describes the geography of Kashmir before and after partition. [TRUNCATED]
