Psychological motivations in selected radio prayers.

Abstract
Prayer as the central and most distinguishing religious practice has universal appeal. It is a dynamic, creative and mutual relationship in which one's thoughts and feelings are expressed to a responsive Being.
1. A Statement of the Problem. The problem of this dissertation is to study the psychological motivations in prayer using as examples ten of each of the public radio prayers of twenty-three religious leaders. It has sought to reach an understanding of motivational needs of pray-ers with reference to psychological dynamisms as characteristic patterns of behavior.
2. The Purpose of the Study. The objective of the study is to discover what the psychological motivations in prayer are. The purpose may be clarified by asking four questions: (1) What is the design or pattern of prayer? (2) What categories are found in the content of prayer? (3) What are some of the motivational themas in prayer? (4) What are the theoretical questions and significant implications of this study for prayer practices? [TRUNCATED]
