Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine if there was any difference in the way in which public health nurses and the families they serve perceive the functions of the public health nurse. The nurse sample consisted of five staff public health nurses employed in an official agency which offered a generalized nursing service in a predominantly rural area in northern New England. The family sample consisted of ten families, two per nurse, randomly selected from the caseloads of each nurse. [TRUNCATED]
