Abstract
This dissertation constructs a model of theology of religions based on Trinitarian perichoresis (mutual indwelling or interpenetration) as an alternative to the models developed by Raimundo Panikkar, Gavin D'Costa, and S. Mark Heim. On the one hand, my perichoretic model shares with the others an interest in maintaining the dialectics between the commitment to Christian truth and openness to the truths of other religions. On the other hand, my model is critical of and attempts to transcend the other models' limitations. Leaming from Jurgen Moltmann's "open Trinity," Richard Kearney's "God-whomay-be," and the constructive images of other thinkers, I develop a particular understanding of perichoresis that requires a robust triadic configuration of the threerelationships: nature-perichoresis (Christ's two natures), person-perichoresis (God's persons), and reality-perichoresis (God-universe).
