Abstract
This article is a historical narrative focused on David Greenglass's involvement with the trial and execution of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, the only Americans executed during the Cold War for espionage. The article examines Greenglass's life story, how he became intertwined with Julius Rosenberg's espionage ring, and how he sent his own sister to the electric chair. Using primary sources from the Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center at Boston University and Greenglass's testimony at the federal espionage trial of the Rosenbergs, the article recreates scenes and provides historical background on the tense downfall of the Rosenberg spy operation.
