Description
This is the concert program of the String Department Recital on Thursday, December 9, 1993 at 8:00 p.m., at the Marshall Room, 855 Commonwealth Avenue. Works performed were Allegro from Concerto, Op. 14 by Samuel Barber, Adagio religioso and Allegro vivace from Concerto for Viola and Orchestra by Béla Bartók, Caprice, Op. 1 No. 17 by Niccolò Paganini, Caprice, Op. 1 No. 14 by N. Paganini, Three Penny Poems by Tom Williams, Allegro con fermezza from Concerto for Violin by Aram Khachaturian, Allegro from Concerto for Cello in D major, Op. 101 by Franz Joseph Haydn, Tzigane by Maurice Ravel, Adagio di molto from Concerto in D minor for Violin, Op. 47 by Jean Sibelius, Allegro maestoso ma appassionato from Sonata for Solo Cello, Op. 8 by Zoltán Kodály, Rondo (arr. Kreisler) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Allegro from Concerto in B minor for Cello, Op. 104 by Antonin Dvorák, and Introduction: Grave-adagio cantabile from Scottish Fantasy, Op. 46 by Max Bruch.
