Abstract
Human languages are like lyres, their strings drawn tight across time, each note resonating with the touch of countless lives. Within their notes and melodies lies the human story, shaped by migrations, encounters, and conquests, echoing what once was, what is, and what is yet to come. Just as the harmony of a lyre's song emerges from distinct musical notes woven together, languages do not stand in isolation. They borrow, bend, and blend, creating resonances that reveal out shared past. Nowhere is this more evident than in the Levant, where languages rooted in Bronze Age Northwest Semitic traditions were transformed by waves of conquest, trade, and cultural influence. the result was a complex linguistic mosaic, a symphony of voices that defined the region by the eve of Roman rule.
