Abstract
While we know that Jesus is the vine and we are the branches, we sometimes forget that his Father is the gardener, the one who inspects the branches to see which need to be pruned and which need to be lopped off. There is a kind of constant examination of our lives that goes on, which suggests that we should always be careful to make sure that the sap is flowing and the fruit is growing in our lives.
