Abstract
[Suzanna Chiportey Yirilo, commonly known as Susie or Yirilo, is a Birifor woman living in Sawla, Northern Ghana. According to Afia,65 Yirilo’s senior sister, their father converted to Christianity in the Evangelical Church of Ghana (ECG) after their mother’s death, because he did not have another wife to brew his dãa whenever he needed it to perform his rituals. As a result all the children converted along with him. Afia recounts that among the siblings, Yirilo was very charismatic at a young age and they felt God was going to use her in His service.]
