Abstract
The purpose of this study has been to explore the extent to which members of Church congregations perceive themselves as contributors to and participants in the communication which occurs in the sermon.
Recognizing that communication is a vital function of the Church, and that a major agency within the Church gathered for worship is the sermon, a study which examines the layman's perception of his role in this communication event was seen as of significant importance. [TRUNCATED]
