Description
This is the concert program of the Shostakovich Festival, "A Festival Without End" performance on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, February 21, 23, and 24, 1990 at 8:00 p.m., at the Tsai Performance Center, 685 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, Massachusetts. Works performed were Sonata for Cello and Piano, Op. 40 and Six Poems of Marina Tsvetayeva, Op. 143 by Dmitri Shostakovich; Bogoroditse devo, from Vespers, Op. 37 by Serge Rachmaninov; Two Anthems by Igor Stravinsky; Three Choruses by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov; Two Russian Folksongs for mixed chorus without accompaniment, Op. 104 and String Quartet No. 7, Op. 108 by Dmitri Shostakovich; Songs and Dances of Death by Modest Mussorgsky; String Quartet No. 9, Op. 117 by Dmitri Shostakovich; Symphony No. 44 in E minor, "Trauer" by Joseph Haydn; and Symphony No. 11 in G minor, Op. 103, "The year 1905" by Dmitri Shostakovich.
