Description
This is the concert program of the String Department Student Concert on Monday, February 24, 1992 at 8:30 p.m., at the Concert Hall, 855 Commonwealth Avenue. Works performed were I. Allegro con brio from Sonata in D major for Violin and Piano, Op. 12 No. 1 by Ludwig van Beethoven, Sarabanda and Giga from Partita in D mnor, BWV 1004 by Johann Sebastian Bach, I. Allegro vivace from Sonata No. 2 in F major for Violin and Piano, Op. 99 by Johann Brahms, Poème by Ernest Chausson, I. Lassú: moderato and II. Friss: allegretto moderato from Rhapsody No. 1 (Folk Dances) by Béla Bartók, Passacaglia by George Frideric Handel (arr. Halvorsen), Allegro amabile from Sonata No. 2 in A major for Violin and Piano, Op. 100 by J. Brahms, III. Melodia and IV. Presto from Sonata for Violin Sonata from Béla Bartók, and Carmen-Fantasy (after Bizet's Opera), Op. 25 by Pablo de Sarasate.
