Abstract
It is a well-known fact that both Chaucer and Shakespeare borrowed the plots for their Troilus-Cressida story. This fact, however, does not detract from the creative genius of the authors in question, since it is the originality that they gave to the treatment of the plot which makes their works true literary achievements.
