Abstract
The purose ot this study is to provide documented evidence ot the clinical orthopedic response of an acrylic removeable appliance, introdllced by Dr. H. I. Margolis, to which a headgear is attached, utilizing cervical occipital forces to prodllce orthopedic changes in the maxilla of Class II/I malocclusions. In addition this investigation will alao determine it there is a distal tooth movement or the maxillary posterior segments. Pre and post treatment lateral cephalograms of 100 patients with Class II/I malocclusions were evaluated. The group was divided chronologically into three categories; 1) 8-10 years-mixed dentition, 2) 10-13 years-late mixed dentition, 3) 13 years and above-perr.ianent dentition. From these records, the angular SNA and SNB changes were established, as well as the linear posterior movement of· the maxillary first molar. [TRUNCATED]
