Abstract
[Films, as all forms of art do, have the power to shape us into the people we end up choosing to become. We forge our own paths and yet we never separate from the art that moves us, the art that changes us—ultimately becoming the art that we stay alive for. Films are particularly special because they compel us to explore the depths of our experiences. Experiencing Nathaniel Dorsky’s carefully named Devotional Cinema is the equivalent of experiencing a film, rather than simply watching. It is re-learning how to experience the world we inhabit, with undying presence.]
