Abstract
This study is an investigation of John's Gospel. The purpose or the study is to determine, first , whether or not the Fourth Gospel has a universal aim and relevance and, secondly, whether or not it provides a significant basis for an ecumenical movement. Particular attention is given to the faith, the scope , the mission, and the historical influence of this Gospel, for it is in these areas that we may look for evidences of universality or the lack of universality.
