Abstract
Although hand therapy after Dupuytren’s contracture (DC) fasciectomy is extensively documented in the literature, there is a paucity in the specific guidelines on hand therapy interventions following all DC procedures, in particular, after Collagenase Clostridium Histolyticum (CCH) or Xiaflex injections and Needle Aponeurotomy. Furthermore, there is conflicting literature on using orthotics, an integral part of hand therapy, and a long-term follow-up of DC patients is needed. The proposed program is both an educational initiative and an educational intervention to educate the patient with DC and the occupational therapy practitioner (OTP) and physical therapy practitioner (PTP), as well as inform physicians about the benefits of hand therapy.
