Abstract
The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the root canal anatomy of the mandibular first bicuspid. The teeth were collected, identified, radiographed, prepared histologically, and observed microscopically. The results indicated that the root canal anatomy was very complex. The number of teeth with multiple canals in the apical one-third was 48 per cent. Sixty per cent of the specimens had accessory canals with 14 per cent having more than one accessory canal. Further study is required to substantiate these observations.
