Abstract
The limited access to sexual health services for young Latinx individuals can be attributed to the disadvantages present in their surroundings and the absence of adequate representation, which compounds the challenges they face in forming their identities. The previous research and background information encompass the historical labels and usage of Latinx terminology, the existence of Sociedad Latina as an organization, and the overall history of sex education, particularly for Latinx individuals. The methods chapter examines the initial research idea and explains why it had to be modified because of its limitations. Chapter four concludes the lack of structure for identity or socio-cultural aspects when facilitating sexual health education while incorporating intersectionality theory. Chapter five concludes that socio-cultural factors influence young Latinx perception towards sex, sexual health, and relationships regarding their identity and environment while incorporating labeling theory. In conclusion, comprehensive sex education with a socio-cultural lens needs to be applied within the curriculum as it influences the way sexual health is accessed within the young Latinx community.
