Description
This is the concert program of the Phyllis Curtin in a Master Class of Songs by Ned Rorem performance on Monday, March 23, 1992 at 8:00 p.m., at the Tsai Performance Center, 685 Commonwealth Avenue. Works performed were the following by Ned Rorem: "The Stranger" from "Women's Voices," "The Youth with the Red-Gold Hair" from "Two Poems of Edith Sitwell," Gods, "I Saw Louisiana a Live-Oak Growing" from "Three Calamus Poems," The Serpent, Absalom, "Let No Charitable Hope" from "Women's Voices," "From Whence Cometh Song" from "Nantucket Songs," Psalm 143, I Strolled Across an Open Field, "Ask Me No More" and "Now Sleeps the Crimson Petal" from "Four Poems of Tennyson," "A Night Battle" and "Inaugeration Ball" from "War Scenes," and "Specimen Case" and "Incident" from "War Scenes."
