Abstract
Description
Simulated clinical encounter activity for practicing urgent patient communication in challenging situations. This 45-90-minute fishbowl simulation features three distinct patient scenarios requiring learners to communicate urgent cardiac assessment findings while understanding patients' perspectives: an angry, fearful construction worker, an anxious biochemist requesting specific diagnostic tests, and a kindhearted Latin American immigrant unfamiliar with biomedical healthcare. Activity includes observer checklists, role-play handouts, and facilitator guidance for debriefing. Emphasizes integration of clinical knowledge, communication skills, and cultural humility under pressure.
