Abstract
Problems in minimum time transfer from one straight line orbit to a parallel straight line orbit under the action of thrust of constant magnitude are considered. The first problem discussed is that of determining the transfer path for sets of boundary conditions which require both initial and terminal orbital velocities to be the same. Schied(5) has shown that in the presence of such boundary conditions the angle of thrust is +/- pi/2 for minimum time transfer. This condition leads to the solution where the minimum time path consists of two back-to-back parabolas with vertical axes. [TRUNCATED]
