Abstract
The novel is written in brief, changing scenes, each one connected by characters, thoughts, places, etc., so that the reader sees and knows the entire town at once, moving from place to place, person to person, yet always returning to the Donald Cousinses, who exemplify the doubting, ambitious, rather humorous young couples of today.
