Abstract
The purpose of this study is to learn to what extent the various treatments available for alcoholics and drug addicts, in addition to detoxication and drug withdrawal, were used by patients who were admitted to the Washingtonian Hospital; to ascertain to what extent social work services were used, and to ascertain, as far as possible, what services were offered by either the medical staff or the social service department but not accepted.
