Abstract
[Twelve years after the Decade of the Brain, the brain is still full of mysteries. Although we know a great deal about it, most of the fundamental questions are yet to be answered. Neuroscience has benefited a lot from interdisciplinary approaches. For example, anthropology can be particularly helpful in explaining how the brain operates, because it places Homo sapiens and its ancestors on a timeline and contemplates the evolutionary pressures that gave rise to our complex brain and its mechanisms.]
