Abstract
The twentieth century should be considered the turning point in the history of endodontics, because of the introduction of new procedures like the routine use of roentgenograms, new designs of intra-canal instruments and finally the invention of the "Vertical Condensation" or "Warm Gutta Percha" technique by Dr. Herbert Schilder of Boston. This technique, which incidentally in Europe is known as "Schilder's Technique", gained and keeps on gaining more and more popularity not only in the North American continent, but all over the world as well! Therefore, it is without surprise and wonder that you can see, sitting side by side, dentists from the United States, South America, and Europe, trying to learn and master the skill of this technique.
